Heavy snow expected in Shepherd's Bush
Gritters were working through the night and early this morning (6) to prepare the streets of Hammersmith of Fulham for the expected deluge of snow, although heavy blizzards are yet to hit west London.
Only one school - St John's Walham Green Church of England Primary in Fulham - was closed due to staff shortages caused by the winter weather.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council, which is responsible for clearing all the borough's roads except the A4 and A40, has stockpiled 430 tons of grit and has ordered another 300 tons to cope with the prolonged cold snap.
Heavy snow is predicted in London later this afternoon and more blizzards are expected throughout the week.
Gritter lorries are expected to continue working across the borough throughout today.
A council spokesman said: "We prioritise roads in order of importance and we're working flat out. We have 430 tons of grit in stock, which is more than enough for a small borough like Hammersmith and Fulham."
