Fraudster jailed in crackdown on 'criminal family'
A mortgage fraudster whose nephew is a convicted heroin dealer was jailed for two years after police uncovered two property scams.
Robert Palmer, 44, of Askew Crescent, Shepherd's Bush, was sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on August 26 for two frauds involving flats in Uxbridge.
It comes six months after his nephew, Carl 'Junior' Johnson, was jailed for 30 months for possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. Two other family members were arrested alongside Palmer following a coordinated drugs, payback unit and council anti-fraud raid in February last year.
Detective Superintendent Steve Cassidy, acting borough commander, said: "We will continue to use every legal means at our disposal to disrupt such criminal families involved in drug dealing and will take the money gained from it. We will send them to prison and put them out of business."
