Shepherd's Bush junk mail deluge

Posted by Dan Hodges on Jun 15, 09 05:32 PM in What's on

Huge piles of junk mail will be dumped in the West 12 shopping centre to show shoppers how much waste paper is pushed through their door each year.

Hammersmith and Fulham Council hopes the stunt on June 24 will inspire people to recycle more, as at least 70 per cent of the borough's household waste is currently thrown away.

Visitors can also add their environmental promises to a 'pledge tree' made of reused cardboard and leaves, find out the location of 14 battery recycling tubes and pick up other waste-busting tips.

We'd like to hear from you.
