Shepherd's Bush bus crime rate dropping

Posted by Dan Hodges on Jun 30, 09 04:23 PM in Crime

BOROUGH: Crime on buses in Shepherd's Bush, Hammersmith and Fulham fell by five per cent last year, according to new figures.

And the number of reported crimes on the bus network has dropped steadily over the past three years, from 913 in 2005/06 to 646 in 2008/09.

The council hopes extra police drafted in to patrol Hammersmith Broadway will have a further impact.

Crime leader Greg Smith said: "The falls in bus crime are very welcome but there is still a lot of work to be done. The council and the Mayor of London are both ploughing more resources into cracking down on crime and we will be working tirelessly to build on this success."

We'd like to hear from you.
