Video schooling for Hammersmith pupils

Posted by Dan Hodges on May 21, 09 05:35 PM in Schools/colleges

Pupils at a Hammersmith school will soon be able to take part in lessons from home through a cutting-edge new computer system.

Staff at Sacred Heart High School hope the project will help stop children falling behind in their work if they are absent through illness or family commitments.

IT firm Dell has set up the system so many pupils can link into lessons at one time using video and instant messaging.

Dell director Iain Campbell said: "Computers are becoming as essential to learning as pen and paper. Forward-thinking schools, like Sacred Heart, are taking it one step further."

We'd like to hear from you.
