Miniature gardens spring up in Shepherd's Bush

Tiny gardens designed by a Turner prize-winning artist have gone on show at a newly opened store at Westfield.

The 'city gardens', created for the luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton by 2004 prizewinner Jeremy Deller, will be on show for two weeks before being donated to Hammersmith Community Gardens Association, which creates interesting green areas in small urban spaces.

Jeremy said: "A good garden is a work of art in itself and the British love of gardens extends from the practical allotment to the manicured lawn.

"In London we have to appreciate nature wherever we can find it and my installation will reflect this; combining the strange beauty of the scarecrow with a mobile urban vegetable patch."

A school or community project will be chosen by the store and the regeneration charity to take over the gardens.
