Violent man arrested with key wedged in buttocks

A police officer became entangled in a violent attack after giving chase to a lawless driver.

PC Adam Leak was pushed in the chest and struggled to restrain the 35-year-old man who was reaching for the officer's baton.

The bobby was forced to chase the fleeing man who ran off towards Macfarlane Road, Shepherd's Bush, despite fearing the man was armed.

Other officers arrived on the scene and the man was arrested in Wood Lane.

During a strip search where the man continued to be violent, officers found an Audi car key firmly wedged in his buttocks.

After being fingerprinted, officers discovered that the man had been disqualified from driving twice before and wanted for three armed robberies, serious assault and theft from cars around the London area.

On the day of his arrest on Monday, October 6, the man was driving a black Vauxhall Vectra with a woman passenger.

When PC Leak stopped the vehicle on Aldine Street at 2pm, the woman was sat in the driver's seat and she later admitted he had been driving and they had switched places.

The wanted man denied driving and gave false documents which later showed he did not have a valid licence.

It was when the officer informed the man he was likely to be arrested that he became violent and attempted to flee from the scene.

The key retrieved from his buttocks was found to fit a green Audi TT convertible located in Engel Park and the man has been charged with 11 separate offences.
