Council urges TfL to do more drivers
Transport for London needs to come up with more urgent solutions to help drivers get moving around the borough, according to the town hall leader.
Traffic lights need to be better phased and north-south routes must be widened to deal with the huge volume of traffic.
Hammersmith and Fulham already has the most clogged-up streets in London with a staggering 7.6 million hours lost in traffic every year, and 70,000 extra visitors are expected to flood into Shepherd's Bush every week when Westfield opens.
Council leader Stephen Greenhalgh has welcomed public transport improvements, and a scheme to improve traffic flow at the junction of Fulham Palace Road and Hammersmith Broadway, but it he said it was not enough.
He said: "TfL must not forget about west London's drivers who seem to be constantly stuck on red.
"It has been a long and at times difficult journey to get these public transport links finished and we cannot allow TfL to take the same length of time to sort out our roads."
TfL is also expected to make improvements to the junction of Wood Lane and the Westway in Shepherd's Bush
