Police swoop crackhouse
Policeswooped on a crack house in Shepherd's Bush and arrested 13 people for a range of crimes.
The property in Aldine Court was raided early in the morning and subsequently boarded up following a three month closure order by the West London Magistrates' Court.
It led to the arrest of 13 people for Grievous Bodily Harm, possession of Class A drugs and fraud.
The closure was part of Operation Tenpin which saw bobbies hit the streets of Shepherd's Bush on Thursday and Friday (Sept 11, 12), where they also confiscated cannabis from three people after numerous stop and searches.
Sergeant Finbar King of the Shepherd's Bush Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This is an excellent example of the Police, council and other services working together and demonstrates how keen we are to tackle local issues."
The same operation in Fulham lead to two arrests for the possession of class A drugs, and five for cannabis, plus seven vehicles were seized for no tax or insurance.
The London Fire Brigade inspected ten high-risk premises and Hammersmith and Fulham's Street Scene enforcement team issued 11 fines for littering.
Councillor Greg Smith, the council's leader on crime, said: "Operation Ten Pin not only acts as a highly visible deterrent to criminals but also reassures law abiding residents that we are here to protect them. We have a zero-tolerance attitude to crime and will not rest until our streets are free from those who commit crime and anti-social behaviour."
